Behind idea of celebrating this festival is not only tying rakhis but also feelings and respect for each other among them. Sisters always tie rakhis because it is considered as a protection symbol that my brother will protect me throughout my entire life. They also give some amount of money among themselves in the form of shagun which is considered as good symbol plus after tying rakhis , sisters also feed their brothers with sweets and then after that they share gifts among themselves.
