30 Important Abbreviations With Their Full Form Related To Technology
Today I will be giving you a brief
outlook on the 30 most important abbreviations of technology along with their
meanings. I know I should have written about part 4 of Journey to Adsense today
but I thought giving it a break for some time as it gets boring reading same
article, so let’s get today ' s topic rolling.
1st
Important abbreviation is 1) ABS which stands for (Anti - lock Braking System
) which means that it is a kind of safety system which is mostly used in
automobiles for example - Cars . It is helpful whenever driver needs to
apply breaks at any point on the road while driving the vehicle as it prevents
wheels from getting locked up.
Basically in simpler terms whenever driver
needs to move in a particular direction for example left and right, so in such
a case wheels of car are not blocked along the way. Next up is
2) ASAT which in its full form refers to (Anti
- Satellite Weapons).
3) BIOS stands for (Basic Input And Output
System) which is used in a computer.
It
is used in controlling the computer as it gives instruction to the computer
regarding operations to be performed on that very system. Instructions are
enclosed in chips which are then placed with motherboard of the computer.
4) Byte (Binary Element String) which is
storage of data in computer.
In other words each byte further consists
of 8 binary units and in which each bite consists of a zero or a one in
numerical terms. Basically byte is a string which consists of information, for
example a single character.
5) CPU (Central Processing Unit) which is
the brain of a computer where it performs various kinds of functions such as
Mathematical Operations, Logical Operations and Controlling Operations.
They are first applied on IC (Integrated Circuit) microprocessors on one or
more than one CPUs.
6) OS (Operating Systems) is a system
software that handles managing of computer software and hardware resources plus
it provides services for computer programs. There are various types of
operating systems also which I will discuss in upcoming posts.
7) Video Graphics Array (VGA) which is a
video display controller. It supported all kinds of graphics modes such
as Standard Graphics Mode.

UNIVAC (Universal Automatic Computer) was a line of electronic storage of
program. It was one of the earliest commercial computers.
9)
HTML (Hypertext Markup Protocol) is a language extensively used across the
world in about every computer, and android smartphones, plus smart electronic
devices as it is a very important language as it tells skeleton of a website
means that structure of a website.
10) CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is used in
building different styles of a website like its appearance.
11) (JS) JavaScript is another coding
language which is used for adding animation to your website.
12) TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is
an internet protocol which connects client with the server.
13) CLI (Command - Line Interpreter) which
is attached with computer programs that are designed in such a way that it will
interpret sequence of many lines.
14) CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) is a vacuum tube
which is used in televisions, mobile phones, Smart Refrigerators, etc in which
there is a beam which is manipulated in order to show images on the screen.
15) DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol) that is used on IP (Internet Protocol) networks.
16) Gigabit Interface Converter ( GBIC) it
is used with Gigabit Ethernet and fiber channel .
17) High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC) is
a code-transparent synchronous data link layer protocol developed by International
Organization for Standardization (ISO).
18) Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF),
it connects user line circuits and serves as distribution point for multipair
cables.
19) Internet
Protocol (IP) it enables network and establishes internet.
20) Local Area Network (LAN) is a computer
network that connects computers amongst themselves within a small area.
21) Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) is size
of biggest protocol unit that can be therefore communicated in a single network
layer transaction.
22) Network-Attached
Storage (NAS) is a block level storage in which server is connected with
computer network that further provides data to a large group of people in the
world.
23) Non-Volatile Random-Access Memory (NVRAM) is
random access memory where data is retained without even applying power.
24) Password
Authentication Protocol known as (PAP) is used by Point To Point Protocol to
validate users.
25) Power-On Self-Test known as (POST) is a
process which is performed by firmware instantaneously after any electronic
device is turned on.
26) Read-Only Memory also called (ROM) is a
type of memory in which it can retain stored information, even when power is
removed from the computer.
27) Small
Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) in which it is a compact, hot-pluggable network
interface.
28) SIMM (single in-line memory module) is
a memory module where it includes in it random access memory also.
29) SRAM (SRAM) also known as static RAM
that uses circulatory in such a way to store little bits.
30) And
last one is WLAN (Wireless LAN ) it can also be known as Wireless LAN
Controller which is used in mixture with Lightweight Point Protocol.
